The Vibe
Jimis is no-nonsense. The focus is entirely on the burger — minimal décor, functional lighting, a short menu that's short on purpose. It has the energy of a place that decided to do one thing well rather than offering 40 items badly. The crowd is a mix of local office workers, college students, and people who drove specifically for the burger.
🗺️ How to Reach
Take the Western Line to Malad Station. Exit from the west side. Auto-rickshaw to the restaurant — about 10–15 minutes depending on traffic. Share the Maps pin with the driver.
From the Western Express Highway take the Malad West exit. Google Maps has the exact location. Street parking usually available in the evenings.
🍽️ What to Eat
Two smashed beef patties with crispy caramelised lacy edges — the defining feature of a proper smash burger. American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, house sauce. Messy, filling, and genuinely satisfying. The bun holds up better than most places manage.
Thick-cut fries loaded with cheese sauce, jalapeños, and crispy onions. A strong companion to the burger — don't skip it. Portions are large enough to share between two.
Thick, cold, dark enough to balance the richness of the burger. A proper diner-style milkshake — not overly sweet, genuinely cold. The chocolate is the best of the three flavours available.
📝 The Full Experience
Mumbai's burger scene has been noisier than it's been good for the last few years. Every new spot claims to be 'craft' and 'artisan' and charges ₹400 for a burger that disappoints.
Jimis doesn't do that. The menu is focused: a handful of burgers, fries, shakes. The Smash Burger is ₹249 for the double. That's the number to know.
I ordered the double smash, loaded fries, and chocolate shake. The burger arrived in 12 minutes. The patties had the right smash: thin, maximally browned, with crispy lacy edges. Cheese melted correctly. The bun-to-filling ratio was right.
I ate it in about four minutes. Ordered more fries. Left satisfied.
💡 Pro Tips
- Go for the double patty — the single is underwhelming
- Loaded fries are better than regular — worth the extra
- Order the chocolate milkshake — richer and better balanced than vanilla
- The burger is messy — take napkins seriously
- Best eaten fresh in-person — delivery loses the crispiness fast
